Health Tips
Preferred diet:
- Sprouted cereals and legumes.
- Toned butter milk, lemon juice, coconut water.
- Ginger, garlic, onions, tamarind.
- Veggies - Spinach, amaranthus, fenugreek leaves, curry leaves, coriander leaves, mint.
- Oranges, guava, apples, papaya, banana, watermelons.
- Bitter gourd, snake gourd, bottle gourd, tindoora, cucumber, Brinjal, lady's finger, tomatoes, drum stick.
- Fishes.
Need to be taken in limit:
- Cereals like wheat, rice, ragi, sorghum, jowar.
- Toned milk and curd.
- Maida, semolina, bread, cornflakes.
- Lightly fried tender meat and skinless chicken.
- Coffee, tea, dal, sugar, jaggery.
- Oils - Suflower oil,
- Egg whites.
- Pickles, salted snacks.
Should not be taken:
- Deep fried curries, fast foods, carbs.
- Ghee, butter, cheese, coconut oil, hydrogenated oils, egg yolks, condensed milk.
- Cashews, almonds, groundnuts, pistachios, dried coconut.
- Pickles, chips, puffed rice.
- Cakes, cream biscuits, chocolates, and processed foods.
- Jam, ice creams, soft drinks and canned foods.
- In meats - liver, heart, brain, pork, salted fishes, prawns, crabs.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CARDIAC PATIENTS
Food - water:
- Water intake should not decrease 2-3 liters per day.
- Edemic cardiac patients have to follow the advice of doctor before drinking water.
- Food is to be taken number of times in low quantity.
- Don't eat more food at once.
- Take rest after eating.
- Don't do walking or any exercises after eating.
Exercises:
- Regular exercises are good for a healthy heart.
- Walking, jogging, swimming, aerobics are mostly preferred.
- Don't prefer weight lifting.
- Exercise are to be done with empty stomach.
- Consult your doctor before you step for exercising.

Habits:
- Be free from depressions.
- Smoking should be completely stopped.
- Alcohol consumption should be taken in low quantity. It is a risk factor if taken more.
Long journeys:
- Have a check with your doctor before you leave for the long journeys.
- Carry your medical records and medicines along with you while travelling.
